Elizabeth Coronado

Elizabeth is a hair cutting and color specialist who masters the art of detail and precision and it shows in her work.

While studying Business Administration at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth began her career working for the nationally renowned Charlie Price, where she worked as his receptionist and office manager for 3 years. He inspired her to study cosmetology and taught her first-hand to operate and manage a successful salon business.

She learned her exceptional hair cutting techniques from Heinz Schaeffer, of Heinz & Company in Denver, Colorado. He mentored her and taught her his rigorous German precision techniques; this was easy for Elizabeth due to her background in drafting and studies in Interior Design at the Colorado Institute of Art, where she was nationally recognized in “Architect Magazine” for her innovative designs.

Elizabeth was raised in an artistic family and exposed to diverse cultures. Her father is the world famous Principal Bassist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra for the past 40 years. She has an innate appreciation of the fine arts, harmony, and beauty.

Elizabeth also was trained at both locations of the Tony and Guy Academy (Denver, Colorado and Dallas, Texas). It was there that she prepared as a Training Ambassador, having studied all their advanced cutting techniques. She studied hair color methods in Baltimore, Maryland at the Goldwell Educational Center. She also studied natural and holistic approaches at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. Minnesota.

In fact, her studies have taken her to New York, Las Vegas, Houston, Austin and as far as Canada. Ongoing education is important to Elizabeth, and because of her philosophy, she will assist her staff to participate in whatever training opportunities present themselves. She is hungry for more education in order to keep up with the current trends and encourages her staff to follow her lead and to become better than she is.

In Texas, she has worked at John Moore’s Salon, The Hair Studio, and at Jeanette’s Hair and Spa. At Jeanette’s, even though she was booked two months in advance, she took the time to be an educator and mentor with many apprentices. It is from this group that she takes a dedicated, loyal and talented staff to Emali Lane – The Salon and Spa. One of her favorite axioms is, “You’re only as good as the people you have around you.”
